LOTUS ELISE DEVELOPMENT CAR 2006 FORD 1.6 TURBO

ES Motorsport offer an interesting proposition in the form of this ex-factory development Elise. The car started life with a 1ZR engine and was registered as an Elise S in late 2009. We obtained the car from Lotus as a parts vehicle a few years ago, supplied without a drivetrain. As the car was so nice and complete, it seemed a shame to pull it to pieces, and so we’ve recently completed full recommissioning.

A “Lotus powered by Ford” the car now sports a 1600 Turbocharged Ecoboost Ford Drivetrain. The engine is from the Fiesta ST180 and is mated with the Ford 6-speed gearbox. This controlled by an SCS reprogrammable engine management system - circa 220BHP.

The exterior presents really well in Solar Yellow, with “Scura” style satin black forged alloys.

The interior was a styling excecise by Lotus trim department, presumably for a special 60th anniversary edition - sports seats and trim feature leather, carbon leather and yellow stitching. The dash is the “Super Touring” twin air bag option, and 4 speaker ICE and other features.

The car drives superbly, is really engaging having been turbocharged, but there’s massive low end torque too.

An interesting, well sorted, well priced and unique opportunity. Having covered 800 miles since completion, the car is ready to be enjoyed.
